East Coast Girls Are Hip

No, I’m not from Texas. No accent, no cowboy boots (yet), I have been suppressing the urge to say y’all way more than I ever thought. I was born in the burbs of Chicago, raised in the burbs of New York City, and got my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. I am here because I fell in love with a wonderful man. Right before he joined the Air Force. I mean like 2 months before. We did long distance for four years and now that we are geographically together, well, it is amazing. I love the way it feels to share my life with someone. I have someone by my side, pushing me to grow, wanting what is best for me, and I am stronger because of it. We are far from perfect but strive to fall deeper into our understanding of our love everyday. I know how strong our love is and I am inspired when I meet two people who are also in love. Everyone has a different way of showing it but it is always there, in the touches, the smiles, the laughter. I see it not only in couples but in families and friends too. Love is what makes me passionate about my work.

April 23, 2010 - 11:38 pm Rita Quinn - Just thought I'd share some blog love. Your work is just stunning!! And I'm so jealous that you were able to attend one of j*'s workshops. I soooo want to go to one. Where in Texas do you live? I'm in Austin. Would love to have a coffee together some time. I think you rock!! :D

August 16, 2009 - 5:48 pm Claire Reynolds - Hi Erica, I just wanted to drop you a line and tell you how much I love your website and also to ask you a question. I've been following your blog for about a month now, and I love your work. I guess I actually have two questions. I'm starting a photography business and need to work out tax stuff. How do you file for your photography stuff? How does it work when you order prints? I know that our state laws are going to be a little different since I'm not in Texas, but I'm trying to get ideas from a few photographers on how to work it. If it's too personal to answer to a stranger, I understand, but any help would be great. Thanks! Claire Reynolds

August 12, 2009 - 8:32 am Lauren - Been secretly reading your blog. Just thought I'd say hi!

June 3, 2009 - 11:49 pm Kat - Love your work...your web page I love and your pictures are very different then anything I have seen here. I too take pictures but not of people and my stuff don't have the crisp look yours have....But I am looking for someone to take a family photos of my hubby, brother and I and like I said I like your style. I would like to know what you charge..Thanks for your time and wish you all the best with living here in Wichita Falls and your other half...it is easier living in the same geographic area when your in love. Thanks again I look forward to heard from you.

June 1, 2009 - 7:27 pm Victoria Woodruff - All I have to say, is beautiful! Your pictures are CRISP, very clean. There are alot of photographers around here (WF), that do the same pictures, and same places, there is not a difference in there photos, one photographer to another. But, yours are different. I will definitely have to call you up and have you take a family portrait.
