My parents came to visit Fred and me last weekend. Well, we were really just a pit stop on the way home (DFW is a popular destination for layovers) from a two week vacation in British Columbia – Bannf National Park, Vancouver, and the quaint town of Victoria. More importantly it was a vacation in celebration of 25 years of marriage. I was so excited to have my parents come see where I was living, show my dad the base he was stationed at 40 years ago…but other than that I was at a bit of a loss on what else to do. Then the idea hit me and I simply smiled – a surprise photoshoot for their anniversary. I thought the timing was perfect. The night they arrived I was so excited to tell them about my idea I just kind of burst it out. The response I received was less than an equal burst of energy. I got a pause. A long pause. Then my mom finally came out with a “Oh, really?” I said “Yes! It WILL be fun. And you WILL appreciate it.” So I made it a quick shoot to spare us all any grief. Luckily when they saw the results they were much more enthusiastic than their initial reaction. Thanks for embracing the photoshoot, for being such wonderful parents, and always believing in me and my dreams. I couldn’t do any of it without you both. I love you!
Happy 25th Anniversary Mom & Dad!

I am in love with this next photo because I pick on, er I mean fix…things with Fred all the time, and now I know where I get it from. Thanks Mom!

My eyes hurt from staring at this big bad 24″ monitor. But sometimes you need to work on something for yourself. Even if it’s one photo. Even if it takes two minutes. Fred and I have only been seeing each other for the minuets before bed. I go to work when he’s asleep. He goes to work right before I come home. He comes home for work when I should be getting in bed. Moral of the story: night flying is no fun. He also was away this weekend on a cross country flight. Lucky for me I was on dog duty for our friend’s Melissa and Travis so Zoey the Pomeranian wonder dog kept me company. And here she is in all her glory :) What can I say, dogs just make me smile! Did I mention I want one?!

I’m proud to say that the Macias Family are the first one’s to have their photos graced by my new logo! My cousin Kim is a fabulous graphic designer and she graciously agreed to do my new logo and business cards. If you love my new logo as much as I do, leave her some comment love below! Thank you Kim!
Brianna and I had been in touch for some time now about family photos. There was only one small problem. Their family was minus one at the time. So we waited. Well, really SHE waited. and waited. and waited some more. Then one day I got an email with the subject line: He’s Home!!! Her husband Dominic is in the Air Force and returned from overseas just in time for the 4th of July. And to be included in the family photos ;) Right when I met The Macias’ I could feel how much it meant for them to all be together. It was like one big sigh of content relief. They were together as one. And all was right in the world. I’m so happy that you are together again and that I could document your love as a family :)

I looove this one! Eyes closed laughter is the best!

The Macias’ are from Cali but they’re trying to fit in ;)

This next one is just the sweetest thing…

It was still super hot out at the end of our shoot so we headed over to Bahama Buck’s for some cold treats. It was my first time there and oh my, they certainly have a new customer!
