We’re married!

For some of you this is old news but Fred and I got married on August 21st! There are no words to describe how happy we are :) We had an amazing day surrounded by our friends and family in New Jersey. Right now we are still very very slowly unpacking and settling into our new house in New Mexico, planning our honeymoon to Greece (we leave in two weeks!) and I’m busy editing Sara and Rich’s photo from their big day (see post below)! Once my life has calmed down a bit I’m going to do at least one post on my experience as a bride with more details about our wedding, but for now I wanted to show you a few of my favorite images captured by my super talented friend Meegan Weaver! To see more images from the wedding please go over to her blog post AND the gorgeous slide show she created for us set to “Love and Some Verses” by Iron and Wine. This first image is Fred and I seeing each other for the first time on the big day…pure bliss!

Washington Connecticut Wedding: Sara & Rich

It started with a boyish crush. The kind where you sit behind the girl you like in the movie theater and the only way you can figure out how to express your affection for her is to be a little bit annoying (put your feet up on the back of her chair). And then be a little bit nice (offer her a piece of gum).  And a little bit annoying again (give her wrong directions. on purpose). But despite all this, you managed to spark her interest and she continued to talk to you until you worked up the nerve to ask her out.

Sara and Rich have been together since they were 15. Neither one expected to find their soul mate when they were so young but they did indeed, and they couldn’t be happier about it! Sara and Rich grew up in Western Connecticut and after high school they both attended the Maryland Institute College of Art, also my Alma mater! Upon graduation they were ready for their next big adventure. They moved cross-country to San Francisco and founded their jewelry company, Gold & Citrus which they have been pouring their hearts and souls into it ever since.

Sara and Rich, thank you for allowing me the privilege of documenting your wedding day. You two are so kind, considerate, and immensely talented. I know without a doubt you will have no trouble achieving your dreams together.

Sara’s beautiful dress from Allure Bridals and flowers from Floré Flower Market

When Sara and I were first emailing I suggested doing a first look, as I do with my brides and grooms. Sara immediately replied, “Yes!” with no hesitation and I was equally thrilled :) Sara and Rich chose to do their first look at a friend’s gorgeous gardens and it was the perfect spot!

I loved Sara’s head piece and I’ve never seen anything like it! She looks like a beautiful nature inspired princess!

Sara and Rich have such a great sense of design and style, and it really shines through in their wedding. Not only was I thrilled to photograph the wedding of two such creative individuals; it was also wedding that debuted Gold & Citrus’ bridal line! Sara created five different necklaces for each of her bridesmaids and they complimented each girl perfectly.

Style with a sense of humor! Those are monster socks for those of you who are wondering ;)

All the guys and gals were dressed in J.Crew which I absoluelty adore!

Details from the reception at The Washington Club

The bride and groom decided on tea as a favor because they love to drink it together on those foggy San Fransico nights ;)

The ring bearer’s pillow was made out of moss and succulents – so unique!

For the reception Sara switched head pieces to one of her own Gold & Citrus designs.

The first dance to Cat Power was super sweet and the perfect opportunity for Sara and Rich to just take in the moment with one another.
